Food glorious food
One of the great things about getting away to the country is that you wake up hungry! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so to do it justice, our breakfasts showcase the best of what is locally available, freshly harvested and as naturally produced as possible. When it comes to food, our philosophy is more akin to Slow Food than Five Star dining – start with the best, keep it simple and go for maximum flavor!
Each morning a Continental breakfast basket will be left outside your door. Depending on what is in season, it might feature a fruit & honey smoothie, toasted muesli, Gippsland yoghurt brûleé, banana bread and whipped maple butter, lemon and blueberry muffins, ham & cheese twists or freshly baked bread and homemade preserves.
With a bit of notice, other meals can be provided. So, if you are arriving late on a wintery Friday night, you might like a chicken casserole and lemon delicious pudding. Or if you are off to Wilson’s Prom for the day, a picnic basket might be just the thing to take along.
Here at Sanctuary@Waratah we proudly use as much local produce as possible – either home grown on the property or sourced from the dynamic Prom Coast Food Collective which enables us to buy directly from over 20 local farming families alongside whom we live and work. You too can enjoy this ethically and sustainably produced food back home after your stay at Sanctuary@Waratah, either by ordering direct for collection at a Melbourne location or I am happy to arrange to have your order waiting at Sanctuary@Waratah for when you arrive.
